Don Marco Pozza in 2014

Theologian and chaplain of the high-security prison of Padua since 2011, he collaborates with various publications in Italy and manages the website he founded, "Sulla strada di Emmaus ("On the Road to Emmaus)".

He is known for having conducted eight televised interviews with Pope Francis particularly on the theme of the Our Father. This led to the publication of "Quando pregate dite Padre nostro (When You Pray, Say Our Father)" released in Italy in November 2017 and in France in January 2018.

The newspaper La Croix presents him as "one of the flagship Faces of the Italian Episcopal Conference's television channel, TV2000"[1].

Since 2017, he has been one of the Gospel commentators on the channel Rai 1 and, since 4 November 2023, he has hosted a cultural and religious program on Canale 5.

The place of Maria Valtorta in his spiritual life

On his website, he testifies:
"I root my faith in the Gospel. [...] 'So why do you read the books by Valtorta?' someone often writes to me, surprised by my admiration for this Woman, who dares to address (too) pious Souls. I reread them diligently for the most basic reason: because they add nothing to the Heart of the Gospel, but their reading allows me to feel even more deeply immersed in this immense human chaos where 'everything cries out for salvation' (D. Mencarelli). 'Leave mystics alone, please!' others advise me. I admit I can no longer do without them: my life would be so sad if I knew I could no longer count on friends of God like Catherine of Siena, Julian of Norwich, Hildegard of Bingen. Nights without Anna Katharina Emmerick then would no longer be nights. Mystics are neither mad nor inexperienced novelists: they are simply men and Women who perceive the Other directly, not only at the moment of death but already here on earth.

'You know the Church has not recognized her, right?' is the latest attempt to dissociate me from Valtorta. I am well aware of that not to worry: almost all mystics have had disagreements with the Church. Perhaps they had too much talent, and, as we know, a talent too steeped in Grace breaks if it risks opening new perspectives, unexplored paths. It is frightening when it becomes a path back to the source for those who are no longer content with whispers. God, in His mother tongue, is unpredictable.

Valtorta is a controversial teacher: I love Souls who divide, tear themselves apart, who force people to put aside truths learned by Heart. Her ten volumes of L' Évangile tel qu'il m'a été révélé — her major work — are my daily Gospel readings after my morning meditation: they add nothing, they take nothing away, they help me keep the door open to the inevitable passage of God. When he slips in novelistic touches there, my Heart rejoices: I feel Jesus even more human, even more God. Even closer to my fragile story, always a step from the impossible. Always about to be realized. Now.[2]"
