Demetes the sailor, the Cretan sailor
A part of the apostolic troupe leads Sintica and John of Endor toward their exile from Antioch. On the boat a violent storm rises. Demetes the sailor is mortally wounded by the fall of a mast. "His head is split open like a ripe pomegranate," murmurs Peter. He entrusts him to Sintica who applies the ointment prepared by Mary and encourages the Apostles to pray. The storm calms and Demetes the sailor is healed.[1] Even the broken bone is re-welded.[2]
