Separation, To Separate, Schism, To Detach

    From Wiki Maria Valtorta
Religion overthrowing heresy and hatred. Pierre Legros the Younger (1695-1699). Marble in the Church of the Gesù, Rome, Italy.
[Schism] from Greek: skhismos, action of splitting, tearing.
Breakup of a group in disagreement with the spiritual authority of a Church. A schism does not necessarily correspond to a heresy, that is, a deviation on a point of Doctrine, but it is often a doctrinal controversy at its origin.[1]

In "The Gospel as It Was Revealed to Me"

    Detachment

    • Those whom the will of God calls to a reciprocal renouncement for a higher love.[2]

    Schism, schismatics

    • The separated brothers.[3]
    • It is your regret, the eternal regret, the perpetual discontent of all schismatics.[4]
    • Schism bears no fruit.[5]
    • Mercy toward schismatics.[6]

    Separation

    • Only the one who does not believe should be saddened by a death.[7]
    • One must even get used to separations. They are useful for testing the strength of affections.[8]

    The Notebooks of 1944

    • Catechesis of May 22: If suffering is accompanied by Peace, then it is proof that it comes from God. If it causes torments but the Soul remains united to its Lord and weeps on His breast, then it is something permitted by God. But if there is anxiety and a detachment from God in suffering, and even more in joy, material success, well-being or triumph - because it happens in that case - then it comes from Evil (p. 308).
