Weapons, Armies

    From Wiki Maria Valtorta
    Soldiers in operation.

God did not invent weapons. The responsibility for their use lies with those who give the orders. The one who handles weapons must fulfill his duty with "humanity."

In "The Gospel as It Was Revealed to Me"

    • The formation of the Kingdom of God is not made with bloodshed.[1]
    • The miracle of the broken blades. "It is not Violence but holiness that brings victory on earth and beyond! For God is with the just."[2]
    • "It is not Revolt nor War that heals wounds, wipes tears away and breaks chains. It is the life of the just. Then God intervenes. And what can weapons and armed troops do Against the radiance of the angelic cohorts when they Struggle in Confession for the good?"[3]
    • The one who wins the War, because God wills it, will be broken if he becomes proud and fierce.[4]
    • "Conviction is obtained through firm gentleness. Woe to the one who jumps at people’s throats to persuade them."[5]
    • The discipline of weapons is not odious to God when the soldier’s own duty is performed with humanity.[6]
    • Catechesis on Judas Maccabeus: his strength did not lie in weapons, but in holiness and humility.[7]
    • "Here, O men, is the true defense Against the misfortunes of man. Not weapons Against weapons, defense Against attack, not pride, not fierceness. But supernatural weapons, the Virtues won in solitude."[8]
    • "Homelands are saved not so much by weapons as by a form of life that attracts the Protections of Heaven."[9]

In the other works of Maria Valtorta

    In the Notebooks

    • Catechesis of April 23, 1943: "So I will only come at the last hour. But woe to those who will see me at that hour after having chosen Lucifer as their lord! My Angels will not need to carry weapons to win the battle Against the antichrists."[10]
    • Catechesis of June 4, 1943: "And it would be enough that less than a quarter of the believers really believe in my Name for the weapons of Satan to be tamed."[11]
    • Catechesis of July 20, 1943: "Humans lack too many things to have weapons to oppose the Beast, and it knows it."[12]

    In the fundamental Christian texts

    In the Bible

    • On our side, we will take up arms and go to battle under the Lord’s orders, as you said.[13]
    • In our struggle, the weapons we use are not human in origin: they are the powerful weapons of God that destroy fortresses. We destroy false arguments[14]
    • Therefore, take up the full armor of God now! So that when the evil day comes, you may be able to resist the enemy and, after fighting to the end, still stand firm.[15]

In the catechism of the Catholic Church

    • Resistance to oppression.[16]
    • Rendering the aggressor unable to do harm.[17]
    • Legitimate defense.[18]
    • The arms race.[19]
    • Financing development rather than armaments.[20]
