Azeka is about 30 km southwest of Jerusalem.

Place where the Philistines gathered before the battle between David and Goliath in the Valley of the Terebinths[3] Philistine camp at the time of Samson.

It is where Joshua defeated the Canaanite kings [4]. City of the lowland of Judah,[5] occupied by the Philistines, fortified by Rehoboam, Solomon's successor,[6] the city withstood a siege imposed by Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, around 590 BCE.[7] It was reoccupied by the Judeans upon returning from the Exile, around 530 BCE.[8]
