Christ, Messiah, Christianity, Parousia
According to the Gospel and the Christian faith, Jesus is the Christ, the one who was anointed with royal oil, the Messiah, the Redeemer.
In "The Gospel as it was revealed to me"
Christ
- Love predestined of Mary for the Christ.[1]
- I had been God. I had become Man. Now, triumphant over the animal joined to the human nature, I was now the God-Man.[2]
- You are the Christ, the Son of the living God! ([3]-[4]-[5]) and [6]
- Only those who unite a perfect faith with a perfect love will come to know the true meaning of the words: "Jesus, the Christ, the Word, the Son of God and the Son of Man".[7]
- The Christ is the consecrated one, the one who was anointed with royal oil to accomplish his mission. Consecrated to gather under a unique scepter, into one people, under one doctrine all men, so that they may be brothers among themselves, and children of one single Father, children who know the Father, and who follow his Law to take part in his Kingdom.[8]
- The Christ, when he comes, no one will know where he comes from.[9] and [10]
- So you know me and you know where I come from? Are you really sure?[11] and [12]
- Truly, truly, I say to you: before Abraham was, I am.[13] and [14]
- If you are the Christ, tell us openly. - I have told you. In houses, in squares, on roads, in villages, on mountains, along rivers, in front of the sea, before deserts, in the Temple, in synagogues, at markets I have told you, and you do not believe.[15]
- Since I am One with the Father and with Love, One here as in Heaven — if in Me exist the two natures, and the Christ, by human nature and as long as his victory has not freed him from human limitations, is in Ephraim and cannot be elsewhere at this instant; as God: Word of God, I am in Heaven as on Earth, my Divinity always being omnipresent and all powerful.[16]
Messiah
- Jesus as a teenager talks about the Messiah - himself - with the Doctors of the Temple.[17] and [18]
- Who am I? The Expected One, the Promised, the Redeemer.[19]
- Look at your Master who was not consciousness of being superior to man because he was the Messiah and who, even knowing He was Man, wanted to be so in all, except in condescension to evil. That is: this is how it is.[20]
- The signs by which the disciples of John the Baptist will recognize the Messiah.[21]
- Are you the Messiah … question asked by envoys of the Baptist - Capernaum.[22]
- We have known, at least by reputation, false Messiahs. And I assure you that their private lives falsified even the most stubborn claim of messiahship.[23]
- I am the one who preaches Eternal Salvation. I am the Way to go to the True God, the Truth that is given, the Life that enlivens you. I am not a sorcerer who does wonders. These are manifestations of my goodness and your weakness, which needs proofs to believe.[24]
- The Messiah is what God told our fathers […] And we, with the centuries and generations behind us, believe in the Messiah we have imagined, the Avenger, the human King, very human, and we do not manage, despite what we say and believe, to conceive the One who is Messiah and King as he really is, as thought and willed by God.[25]
- It is I, I alone who am the Gate of the Sheepfold of Heavens. Whoever does not enter through Me cannot enter. Certainly, there have been other false Messiahs and there will be more. But the unique and true Messiah is Me.[26] and [27]
- Few, very few, among the crushed Man will recognize the Messiah. Few will recognize him as the true Messiah, precisely because he will be crushed as the prophets saw.[28]
Christianity (Christians)
- The world is here. The world of tomorrow in the little Israelite pure who will not even realize that he will become the "Christian"; the world, the old world of Israel in the Zealot; the humanity in John, the gentiles in Sintica.[29]
Parousia
- The Son of Man, once gone, will return only on his Day. And then his manifestation will be like lightning that shines and passes from one point of the sky to another, so fast that the eye has difficulty following it.[30]
In other works of Maria Valtorta
The Notebooks of 1943
- Catechesis of July 14: God is not the monopoly of Catholics, and these Catholics who do not exert themselves for non-Catholics make a serious mistake. They do not work for the interests of the Father and are only parasites who live off the Father without giving him filial help.[31]
- Catechesis of December 2: I will come tirelessly and individually to try the doors of hearts, and where I am opened, I will enter and there make my dwelling of peace. I will come because I am still the Desire of the just on earth and of the saints for the Earth, I will come to assume my Reign for my second coming and my final victory.[32]
