James of Capernaum
Child from Capernaum who was running and to whom Jesus promises honey in Paradise.[1] He will be a young courier who, every Sabbath, brings to Jesus the purse anonymously given by Levi (Matthew).
"Well done, little James! You will tell that person that My prayers rise to the Father for him."[2]
This act of generosity will give him the good example:
"Matthew does not give me anything now for the poor of the Lord, but I have put aside all the money they give me when I am good and I will give it to You now. Will you give it to the poor on account of my grandfather? [invalid]"[3]
Apostolic journey
Like many children from Capernaum, his love for Jesus will not fail.[4]
His name
James has the same root as Jacob (Ia'acob): etymologically: "he who supplants"; another proposed etymology is: "he (God) keeps, protects him" - Historical: Jacob, son of Isaac and Rebecca; twin brother of Esau, who took the name Israel after wrestling with the angel.
