Banquet
A social festive occasion of joy, this event is used in certain evangelical parables, which are also recounted in the work of Maria Valtorta.
In "The Gospel as it was revealed to me"
- Parable of the king who holds the wedding of his son, told at Bethany: Then he said to his servants: "The wedding is ready, but the guests were not worthy. Go therefore to the roads' departures, and invite to the wedding all that you can find."[1]-[2]
- Do not take the first place at banquets: Jesus says: "Always take this as a rule of conduct: when you are invited to a wedding banquet, always choose the last place. Double honor will come to you when the master tells you: "Friend, come forward." Honor of merit and honor of humility. Whereas... Oh sad moment for a proud person to be ashamed to hear: 'Go there, in the back, because there is someone greater than you.' And do the same in the secret banquet of your spirit for the wedding with God. Whoever humbles himself will be exalted, and whoever exalts himself will be humbled."[3] and [4]
- Banquet whose guests shirk: He had invited many people But they all excused themselves one after the other. He said to his servant: go on the roads, along the hedges, make sure people come, so that my house may be full. One thing is certain: not one of the first guests will taste my feast[5] (at Megiddo, at Ismael Ben Fabi who had rejected needy people including Mary and Matthias of Chuza[6])
- Banquet of charity offered on the occasion of the 3rd Passover in the palace of Joanna of Chuza, at the request of Jesus, to beggars, cripples, blind people, orphans, old people, and young widows. This banquet is the concrete application of the two king's banquets mentioned above.[7]
