James and John of Zebedee, suggesting to Jesus to punish his Enemies, are given by him the nickname "sons of thunder."
In "The Gospel as Revealed to Me"
- Boanergēs = sons of thunder. Name that Jesus gave to James and John, because of their impetuosity[1]. In February of the 3rd year, the small apostolic group goes to Phoenicia. At Alexandroscene, Jesus is expelled because of the troubles his Enemies cause there. The sons of Zebedee then show their impetuosity, notably by wanting to deal with Judas, who is absent. Jesus severely reprimands this outburst but affectionately gives them this nickname. This episode is linked to that of The Canaanite woman (Syro-Phoenician), where Jesus' incredible harshness can only be explained by the will to demonstrate the faith that exists, contrary to the reproaches of the Apostles, with this Woman and in the pagan peoples.[2] and [3]
