Communion (of the saints)
The communion of the saints refers to the union of souls in God, including between the souls in Heaven and those on earth or in Purgatory. The Catechism of the Church catholic identifies this communion of saints with the Church, which is the mystical Body of Jesus-Christ.
In "The Gospel as it was revealed to me"
- Oh! holy freedom of all that is spiritual! No distances, no exiles, no prisons, no tombWaterx...[1]
- The flame has luminous words, the love of the inflamed words, and these words travel far, on the immaterial waves of the spirits who always meet, beyond the mountains and seas, and bring Kisses and Blessings and Blessed Objects...[2]
- The communion of saints.[3]
- Souls are not separated by death. I speak of the righteous. They form one great Family.[4]
- There are holy illnesses sent by the Lord to his righteous so that in the world, which makes pleasure its everything and makes all serve it, there are saints who are like hostages of War for the salvation of others, and who pay with their person so that the mass of sins that the world accumulates daily and that would end up collapsing on humanity burying it under its curse is expiated by their sufferings.[5]
- The one who has passed to a second life, there is freedom and the possibility to watch over us and obtain more for us, Good more than when he loved us in the prison of the body.[6]
- God adds to the ministry of the guardian angel the ministry of the Soul He has recalled to Him, and who loves with a love that is pure from human weights her parents whom she loves in God. When He frees a Soul, He strives to replace it for the care needed by those who remain.[7]
- Love for our brothers is not limited to human means and limits, but it rises Good higher. When it is perfect, it touches the throne of God and merges with his infinite Charity and Goodness. The communion of saints is precisely this continuous action - Nothing is lost in the holy economy of universal love.[8]
- God became Man to help men. But men can help God. The works of the righteous will be united with mine at the hour of Redemption. From the righteous who died centuries ago, from those who live now or will live in the Future[9]
- The Communion of saints exists for the saints.[10]
- The Communion of Saints is an active and honest society, it is a holy society. And there is no one who can enter it if they have shown themselves Unjust and unfaithful.[11]
- But You (Jesus), but me (Mary), we know that the charity of the departed is attentive and very close. We know it, me by faith, You directly. The departed do not lose interest in us, and they are not unaware of what happens to the loved ones they have left...[12]
- Because now there is no more separation between his spirit and ours. We have one more friend who prays for us.[13]
In the other works of Maria Valtorta
Autobiography
- "One of the dogmas that attracts me the most in our Religion is that of the communion of saints. When I think that the joy I enjoy comes to me from the heavenly streams whose influx is formed from the merits of the Saint par excellence, unique among all the sons of men, I mean my good Jesus, and the Graces from the Full of Graces, as well as the sum of the works of charity accomplished by the immense army of martyrs, virgins, penitents, confessors... I am carried away in a transport of gratitude and joy and I feel that as long as I deserve this infusion of life I cannot perish. I am a poor little being but, as armor comes to the rescue of my weakness, the treasures of the saints operate around and inside me, and make me capable of living the life of faith.
When I think that to my nothingness, which knows how to do nothing else but suffer with joy to imitate the Master and all his elect, it is granted to become in turn a drop in the immense river of merits and to bring my freshness to Souls burning with human ardors, my cleansing bath to Souls bogged down in faults, my oil of charity to the wounded of life, my food to the unhappy, my song to those who are sad, my tears to the deceased, then I dive into a deep humility of ADoration and blessing. I exist by the simple fact that the spiritual blood of the Church flows in me. I myself who am nothing, misery, weakness, childishness, become a strength, a light, an instrument to give God to Souls and with God all Grace, and to bring Souls back to God and, with the Souls, give him what to quench his Thirst!"
