The mention of this city, known from the Bible, appears only once in the work. A rich caravaner, coming from Petra, advises Jesus not to go to Dibon while Jesus tries to evangelize the land of Moab. "Don't go there. It is full of... those from Machaerus. Cursed places, Lord. Do not turn away from the unfortunate, Lord, to give yourself to the cursed."[2]. Ancient city of Jordan identified today as the city of Dhiban, about 70 km south of Amman and 20 km east of the Dead Sea. It was the capital of the Moabites.
