Esdraelon Plain is the Greek name for Yizre’el, meaning "God sows."

City of Issachar and the plain where it was located, 80 km north of Jerusalem. Israel gathered there before fighting the Philistines at Gilboa;[4] it was there that Naboth the Jezreelite owned a vineyard that was stolen by King Ahab and Queen Jezebel.[5] It was there that later Joram, the second son of Ahab and Queen Jezebel, was killed by Jehu who became king of Israel.[6]
