The miraculous ford at the confluence of the Yabboq and the Jordan.

    Inhabitants or natives

Melchias the ferryman and his children.

    Description

A livid dawn surprises them near a very small village that stretches near the river with its muddy huts. The river is a little narrower than at the ford. Boats are drawn up behind the houses to protect them from the flood.

    Notable events

Like Joshua (see below), Jesus stops the flow of the flooding Jordan to allow the passage of the apostolic group. Later, he heals a deaf-mute by touching his mouth and ears: "Open up! (Effata!)."[1]

    Its name

Adamah means "Earth, soil". Today Tell Ed-Dâmiyeh, south of the mouth of the Yabboq. Perhaps also this "BetJabbok" (Beth Yabboq) mentioned in chapter EMV 360.

Where is it mentioned in the work?

    EMV 110
    EMV 361
    EMV 419
