Name

Gaash, Gaasch, Gaash. The word "Gaas" could come from the Hebrew "געש" (Ga'ash), which means "agitation" or "trembling." Its origin is uncertain.

The location of this valley remains uncertain. According to the Bible, situated south of Timnath-Serah, it is probably the valley of Wadi Al Zarka. It is at Timnath-Serah that Joshua was buried, north of Mount Gaash[5]. A certain Hourai (or Hiddai), "of the torrents of Gaash," was among the 30 mighty warriors of David who went to conquer Jerusalem[6].
