In The Gospel as It Was Revealed to Me, Jesus emphasizes the importance of applying and living the teachings he gives, rather than listening to them passively and uselessly. For this, the help of prayer and Grace are indispensable.
In "The Gospel as It Was Revealed to Me"
- Putting into practice: The house built on the rock.[1]
- "It is not those who say to me 'Lord, Lord' ...[2]
- The word pleases you but you do not put it into practice. From now on (3rd Passover) and more and more frequently, I will make you do what you will have to do when the Master has returned to Heaven from where he came. I will make you witness what the Priest of the Future is. More than my words observe my acts, repeat them, learn them, join them to the teaching. Then you will become Disciples perfect.[3]
- They do not want God to be known and loved. If they wanted, they would make him known through their works, as this one has said. It is works and not practices that make God visible living in the Heart of men and that lead men to God.[4]
- More excusable is an excess of religious scruple, for a good end, than to carelessly overlook everything to achieve a human goal.[5]

- Catechesis of October 18, 1943: The secret of the Soul that does not want to lose its love, God, must be — I have already told you — to always remain fixed on God with the powers of the Soul.[6]
Whatever you do, know to keep the spirit fixed on me. In this way, you will sanctify each of your Actions by making it pleasing to God and supernaturally useful for you. Everything is prayer for the one who knows how to remain in God, because union is nothing other than love, and because love transforms even the humblest Actions of human life into acts of Adoration pleasing to God.[7]

- ↑ This refers to the will, intellect, and memory. Jesus explained to Luisa Piccarreta (Italian mystic 1865-1947) that the powers of the Soul are communication channels between God and humans. He said to her: "You must know that, in creating man, Divinity established different channels of communication between the Creator and the creatures. First, the three powers of the Soul: the intellect allowing understanding of my Will; the memory allowing constant remembrance of my Will; the will, situated between the two previous channels, allowing the creature to take flight in the Will of its Creator. The intellect and memory were the supports, defense, and strength of the will so that it would not deviate either to the right or to the left. As other channels of communication, there were also:
- the eye allowing to look at the beauties and riches of my Will;
- the hearing allowing to hear the calls and harmonies of my Will;
- the word allowing to receive the continual outpourings of my Fiat and all its Goods;
- the hands allowing to perform works in my Will by uniting them to those of the Creator;
- the feet allowing to follow the steps of my Will;
- the Heart, desires, and affections to be filled with the love of my Will and to rest in it.
