Excommunication, to reject

In the Catholic Church, excommunication is a penalty that forbids a faithful or a group of faithful from accessing the Sacraments, with the aim of strongly encouraging repentance and a change in behavior, following some of the most serious acts that can be committed by a member of the Church: schism, apostasy, abortion, etc.

• It is only in cases of serious sins that wound the faith of Hearts that I currently, then my successors, must decide to cut off the corrupt member. Indeed, it is not permitted that because of a priest who is a demon, the Souls of the faithful are lost.
• I am not one of your pharisaical friends who call many things foul and flee or harshly reject them when they could purify them through charity. I am the Savior and I reject no one.

Action of a person (called an "apostate") who renounces their Religion and faith, who publicly abandons their Religion (to adopt another or not). It thus announces their choice to religious representatives.
