Preferred, Preferences, Priorities

From Wiki Maria Valtorta
The Trinity by Leandro da Bassano - Trinity Chapel Santi Giovanni e Paolo (Venice) - Painting of the altarpiece.

As the Virgin Mary did, we are asked to put God at the top of all your priorities. Thus He will be able to perform miracles in our lives and our life will transform, day by day, into joy with God.

In "The Gospel as It Was Revealed to Me"

  • John is my favorite? Yes.[1]
  • John is a pure being. Among all my Disciples, he is "the Pure." His soul is a flower in the body of an angel. He uses, to call me, the words of his first master and asks me to give him Peace. But Peace, he possesses it within himself through the purity of his life, and I loved him for this purity. It is to him that I entrusted my teachings, my secrets, and even the person who was dearest to me. (Mary)

He was my first disciple; he loved me from the first moment he saw me. His soul had united with mine from the day he saw me passing along the Jordan and saw John the Baptist point me out. Even if he had not met me later upon my return from the desert, he would have sought me until he found me. Indeed, the one who is pure is humble and eager to learn the science of God, and like water toward the sea, goes toward those in whom he sees masters of the Doctrine of heaven.[2]
  • Another parallel between John and another disciple. A parallel that more clearly reveals the figure of my favorite. He is the one who even strips away his way of thinking and judging to be the "disciple." He is the one who gives himself without wanting to keep anything of his personality, of the one he had before his calling, not even a molecule. (...)
John: he is the type of those who become host for my love. Your model. (...) my John! He is the host that can be imitated by all categories of those who love me: virgin, martyr, confessor, evangelizer, servant of God and of the Mother of God, active and contemplative, he is an example to all. He is the one who loves.

(...) And did you not feel yourself become all peaceful before his simple way of loving? Oh! my John! And my little John whom I always want more like my beloved. Accept everything, always saying like the Apostle: "Everything You do is well done, Master" (...)[3]
  • I thought I was the first chosen as a disciple and consequently the favorite, says Judas.[4]
  • If your spirit is not aflame with charity, generous in sacrifice, humble, chaste, no, the Lord does not choose you as His favorites, as the custodians of the treasures of His Wisdom.[5]

Notebooks of 1943

  • Dictation of December 2: Above individual and even national interests, there is a higher interest: that of God. And it is that which must have priority. If it were so, you would not fall into the errors and crimes into which you fall, whether individual or national, since the interest of God is not made of evil things, but of holy things. And where holiness reigns, there is no error and no crime.[6]
