To ask

"The Child's Prayer", from: the "Illustrated London News".

The request made to God is a form of prayer just as are ADoration, praise, confession of our faults.

In fundamental Christian texts[edit | edit source]

In the Bible[edit | edit source]

    • One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek.[4]
    • Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.[5]
    • First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, supplications, and thanksgiving be made for all people.[6]
    • You do not have because you do not ask God. And if you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives: you want to waste it all on your pleasures.[7]
    • We receive from God whatever we ask because we obey his commandments and do what pleases him.[8]
