Time, Century

From Wiki Maria Valtorta

"Last Times" and "End of the World" are two successive stages. They are not to be confused.

The Last Times in Scripture[edit | edit source]

This time of trial and triumph is perfectly announced in the New Testament[1]. Jesus wanted to hide nothing. But He also affirms his help and triumph:
When these things begin to happen, stand up and lift up your heads, because your Redemption is near[2].
All these Scriptural texts are cited below.

What does Maria Valtorta say?

She presents the following five successive and linked stages:

The End of Times[edit | edit source]

This period closes the times opened by the Passion of the Lord, His Resurrection and Ascension. It is the preparatory period for the advent of Christ in glory. This crucial period is entrusted to Mary. It corresponds to a period of generalized degeneration of faith and morals. According to the Book of Revelation, Chap. 12 ([3]), Mary will give birth one last time to Christ in the Heart of men. She faces the "Dragon" who attempts to destroy this project and sweeps away one-third of the stars, the priests of the Church. According to Maria Valtorta.[4]

This time is contemporary as announced by several texts of Maria Valtorta.

First, a dictation from October 23, 1947[5] in which Jesus entrusts her with a message for the coming Holy Year: it must be marked with the seal of Mary. The dogma of the Assumption must be proclaimed there. Which was indeed done by Pius XII three years later, on November 1, 1950.

Jesus justifies this request with an urgent call:
Hasten the hour of Mary's triumph over Satan, over the world, matter, death... There can be no other redemption accomplished by me, the Christ. But there can still be one to save a greater number of Souls from the infernal spirals: that of Mary the glorious. It is in her fervor that lies the secret of the final Redemption.
The Holy Spirit, commenting on Romans 1:18 ([6]) about God's wrath, in lesson no. 3 of the epistle of Saint Paul to the Romans[7], announces the time of Mary and specifies it:
For this second and final coming, the Lamb of God, the Redeemer, will no longer have as precursor the penitent of the desert (John the Baptist), but Mary in whom We have established our dwelling... She will cross the heavens... to prepare, beget and give birth, as for a last Maternity, as many living seeds as possible, all those who will want to be born to the Lord. Mary is the ultimate mercy that our Love has conceived for you, says the Holy Spirit.
Her coming happens while "the Darkness ever denser and cursed covers the Earth." Long, very long will be her path. She is violently attacked by Satan who can neither reach her nor destroy her project.
Swift as an archangel, she will only descend to trace her sign, near that of the Tau, on the forehead of the faithful saved for the eternal Kingdom. At the touch of her hand, strength and Peace will penetrate their mind.
She will compensate in the spirit of the good,
the void left by God, who withdraws ever farther disgusted by the sins of men.
Further on, the Holy Spirit confirms to Maria Valtorta: "it is now the hour of Mary"[8]. She is the prophet of the last times, the mystical ark placed between Heaven and earth which, like Noah’s ark, gathers and shelters those who will be saved because they willed it.

Her action is therefore maternal, both long and swift. It is the last resort.

This time of Mary is also called the Virgin of the last times.

The Virgin of the Last Times[edit | edit source]

This expression finds its root in Revelation 12, but also in the writings of St. Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort[9] who prophesied in his "Treatise on True Devotion to the Holy Virgin"[10] in the 17th century: Mary, in the last times, will be revealed not in an abstract way, but in fullness "in the unfolding of her merciful action towards sinners, in her Struggle Against the Enemies of God and in her support to the faithful Disciples of Christ." By her maternal mercy she will gather and form the "Apostles of the last times": the army of the final battle.

The advent of Christ, which the last times announce, will not be by a new Incarnation. He will not come for a second redemption.
There will be no other, confides the Holy Spirit to Maria Valtorta[11], because the first was sufficient and perfect. Nor will He come by a second evangelization. He will not come personally. Yet, He will evangelize by raising up new evangelizers who will evangelize in His name. They will do so in a new form, suited to the era. This new form will change neither the substance of the eternal Gospel nor that of the great Revelation, but will give it greater amplitude, complete it, make it understandable and acceptable even to those who, because of their Atheism or their unbelief about the four ends of man[12] and God's other revealed truths, allege "they cannot To Believe things they do not understand, nor love beings of whom little is known, especially if this little causes fear and Discouragement instead of attraction and encouragement.
Many see in this allusion the advent of Internet (totally unknown to Maria Valtorta) and all the possibilities new technologies offer to evangelization: specialized sites, forums, blogs, messaging, social networks, videos, etc., but also the immense resources it opens for historical and exegetical research.

Indeed, the new evangelization, also promoted by Paul VI and John Paul II, cannot be restricted to the sole work of Maria Valtorta given that our era sees multiplying manifestations from Heaven to the point that it is impossible to know them all in depth. Among them, the revelations of Maria Valtorta have however a worldwide destiny[13] and the web serves to disseminate worldwide, thanks to a spontaneous network of initiatives[14] her seminal work: The Gospel as It Was Revealed to Me. In a message to Pope Pius XII, who was under strong pressures to withdraw his support to this life of Jesus, God the Father addresses firm words urging him to remain confident, otherwise "the whole Heaven would weep[15]". He calls Maria Valtorta’s work the "glory of his Pontificate" and shows its eschatological value.

The new evangelizers already exist, says the Holy Spirit[16] even if the world partly ignores and partly fights them. It is certain that the web, by universally spreading information, counters the established media which lose themselves in hostility or triviality.
But these evangelizers, He continues, will become ever more numerous and when terror seizes the fools who today mock the new evangelizers, the world, after having ignored them, mocked or fought them, will turn to them that they may serve as strength, hope and light in the Darkness. For if it is true that false prophets serving The Antichrist will be more numerous before the end of times, it is equally true that the Lord Christ will oppose His servants in ever greater numbers, raising new Apostles where least expected.

“The infinite Mercy of God will make Mary shine, announcer of the last coming of Christ. The new evangelizers will thus teach the Gospel of Mary[17], truly too much left in the shadow by the The Evangelists, the Apostles and all the Disciples, while a broader knowledge of her would have served as teaching for many, avoiding many falls. She is a pure, faithful, prudent, compassionate, and pious master of life.

She has never ceased teaching through the centuries and bearing God’s messages. She deserves to be better known as the world sinks into mud and Darkness, so as to be more imitated to bring the world back to what has been freed from it.

Christ will seek to prevent the denial, not only of Religion but even of reason, by opening new horizons and pathways illuminated by spiritual lights, and by raising, among those who do not openly reject Him, a powerful revival of spiritual life, with the help of these new evangelizers, not only of Christ but also of the Mother of God. They will bear the banner of Mary. They will lead to Mary. And Mary, who was already once the cause and source — indirect but nevertheless powerful — of man’s redemption, will be so again[18].

“But do not be afraid,” says Jesus… “After this period of painful labor during which, persecuted by infernal forces, the Church, like the mystical Woman spoken of by John[19], after having fled to save herself, taking refuge among the best and losing her unworthy members in her mystical flight (I say Good 'mystical'), will bring forth the saints destined to lead her at the hour before the last times[20].”

“But when? When all this?” asks Jesus[21]. “Are you already at this hour or about to enter it? You are afraid, you ask yourselves questions… but you do not want to regret your sins and repent. The 'when' will not be revealed to you. It is inscribed in the Heart of the present prophets, but “what the seven thunders have revealed to them remains sealed and they will not say it[22].”
We can therefore share the knowledge of faith and signs, but not that of the time and moment.

Humans will be in full shipwreck, all, except the servants of God gathered in the boat of Peter, and faithful to the holy Navigator. It is then that, like a peaceful star, over the horrors and terrors of furious waves, the Star of the Sea (Mary) will rise to announce the ultimate coming of the Morning Star[23] on Earth[24].

The Last Advent of Christ[edit | edit source]

Then comes the advent of Christ in Glory in the Heart of men. It is a clamorous, universal event, visible to all, but Christ will not come in person (a coming reserved for the end of the world): He will raise His spirit one last time in this army of evangelizers prepared by Mary. It is the era of unity of Christians, believers, and that of the conversion of Israel. Christ will have only one troop over all the earth that will have been evangelized.
Those who must gather the lines around the Cross to prepare the gathering of Christ will have a hand of father and king[25]. And no line will miss the call, with its best descendants[26]. Then I will come and put my power to its defense Against all pitfalls and tricks, attempts and crimes of Satan against my earthly Jerusalem — the militant Church. I will pour out my spirit on all the redeemed of the Earth[27]. … I will stand like a fountain in the middle of my reassembled troop and I will wash away in me all the past ugliness that repentance will have already begun to erase. Then, King of justice and wisdom, I will scatter the idols of false Doctrines, I will purge the Earth of false prophets who led you to so many errors. I will replace all doctors, all prophets, more or less holy, more or less wicked, because the last teaching must be purified of all Imperfection[28]. The archangel who defeated Lucifer and who guards my Kingdom and its children, will be the one who appears as a celestial sign in the last times[29].
What form this will take is unknown, but this sign will be visible and undeniable[30].

This clamorous and universal announcement of the last advent of Christ will cause great turmoil. People will turn to these evangelizers, Apostles of the last times, ignored or scorned until then. They will "pull them by the sleeve" to communicate the spirit of Jesus.

Good and bad will separate naturally. Some will be all love and charity, others all hatred.
My Church, at the penultimate day, will then be composed of true Christians. Few in number as at the beginning, but holy as at the beginning. She will end in holiness as she began in holiness. Liars, traitors, idolaters will remain outside those who, at the last hour, will imitate Judas and will sell their Soul to Satan, thus harming the Mystical Body of Christ. The Beast[31] will have in them its lieutenants for its last War[32]. The last times will be the times of the spirit. These lights, these voices will abound to serve as guides to the upright Hearts who will grope in the fogs of materialism, rationalism, sectarianism in which priests will largely participate.[33].
For Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort, these Apostles of the last times:
will be true Disciples of Jesus Christ and will walk in the footsteps of his poverty, humility, contempt of the world and charity, teaching the right way of God in pure truth, according to the holy Gospel, and not according to the maxims of the world, without listening to or fearing any mortal, no matter how powerful.

The Antichrist and the Great Persecution[edit | edit source]

Then will arise The Antichrist to whom Satan will give all his power.
It is logical that, in a world where so many spiritual lights will have died, the reign, brief but terrible, of The Antichrist, begotten by Satan as Christ was begotten by the Father, will manifest. Christ, son of the Father, begotten by Love with Purity. The Antichrist, son of Satan, begotten by Hatred with the triple Impurity[34]. This will be a very high person, like a star. Not a human star shining in a human sky, but a star of a supernatural sphere, who, yielding to the Enemy's flattery, will know Pride after humility, Atheism after faith, lust after chastity, hunger for gold after evangelical poverty, thirst for honors after a hidden life. It is less frightening to see a star fall from the firmament than to see this already chosen creature fall into the hands of Satan[35].
It is not certain that this prophecy designates a Pope, but perhaps a leading figure of these saints of the last times raised by Mary, perhaps one of those who will have contributed "with the hand of a father and king" to the unification of believers into a single troop of Christ. Then will begin violent but brief persecution Against the faithful believers. The whole Heaven, with the militant Church still on earth, will be in prayer so that this troop does not sink. Without this help, the troop would sink entirely. The faithful will then have a very short period of calm to prepare before the last judgment. They will only indeed have a short period of Purification (Purgatory) and therefore intensified in intensity[36].
The Antichrist produces phenomena apt to deceive you and lead you astray, warns The Holy Spirit[37]. These are the wonders that Christ warned of when He predicted the last times[38], warning humanity Against these same wonders and Against the voices of false christs and false prophets who will arise and appear here and there.

Terrifying as never before known, the last time, three years and six months long, will be the time during which Satan, through his son, will burn with supreme rage, for the split between the two branches of God’s people[39] will be completed, and with it the cause of so many material, moral, and spiritual evils; he will then use his ultimate and perfect tricks to harm, ruin, kill Christ in the Hearts as well as the Hearts acquired for Christ.

The wise will understand Satan’s trap — or rather the countless traps of Satan —, because those possessing true Wisdom are enlightened. By their fidelity to Grace, they will become pure and tested like Fire, worthy to be chosen for heaven. The impious, however, will follow Evil and do evil: they will not be able to understand Good because, by their spontaneous will, they will have filled their Heart with evil.

“Then will come the time when the Church, outraged to an unprecedented extent, will no longer be free to celebrate the perpetual sacrifice, and the abomination of desolation will be set up on the Holy Place and on the holy places[40], as announced by the prophets and repeated by me, who is not mistaken, says Jesus. He continues: Daniel says: ‘There will be one thousand two hundred and ninety days (of such outrage). Blessed is the one who keeps and reaches one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.’

This means that, during the three years and six months before the end, a short time[41] will finally be reserved for the faithful to gather and listen to the last Word, which will resonate in their minds as an invitation to heaven[42], while Michael with his Angels will defeat Satan and his demons. “Blessed is the one who keeps and reaches one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days” means: “Blessed is the one who perseveres until the end,” for he will be saved[43].
Azariah, the guardian angel of Maria Valtorta, offers this plea for this time of trial: "Raise around the Church the barrier of your prayer (for that hour[44])".

The End of the World and the Last Judgment[edit | edit source]

After this moment, God will say "Enough!". Christ will then appear in person to judge "the living and the dead". All will see Him, without exception, some for eternal Glory, others for eternal damnation. Hell, eternal, will be definitively closed so that it can no longer sYesll neither Heaven nor Creation. But it is eternal and thus will not be destroyed.

The Earth will return to its origin, a planet among planets before being dissolved like all other planets, once the Last Judgment is pronounced[45]. Christ with all the saints of all times will ascend in a last ascension to the "heavenly Jerusalem" prepared always. The saints will then govern with Christ for eternity:
I will then come, no longer as Master but as King, to take possession of my militant Church, now become One and Universal as I willed. Its secular work will be finished. The Enemy defeated forever. The Earth purified by torrents of Grace descended for the last time upon it to return it as it was in the beginning, when sin had not corrupted this planetary altar destined to sing with other planets the praises of God, and become by human fault the scaffold base of its Lord made Flesh to Save the Earth. Once all seducers, all persecutors who at a sustained rate troubled the Church, my spouse, will be defeated, she will know tranquility and glory. Me and my saints, we will ascend together in one last ascension and take possession of the City without Contamination, where my throne is prepared and where all will be new and without pain. Bathed in my Light, you will reign with me forever and ever[46].

In "The Gospel as It Was Revealed to Me"[edit | edit source]

Duration[edit | edit source]

  • Each century is a night where the guide and the light is the word of Christ and the Grace that comes from Him.[47]
  • Truly, children of the world are wiser than children of the Light: Fraud is not beautiful, and for it I will never praise anyone. But I urge you to be at least like children of the world, wise with the means of the world, to use them as currency to enter the Kingdom of Light"EMV 381
  • My time flees... How short is man's time! And how slow man is to act!... How The Spirit feels these limits of the Earth!... But... Father, let your will be done![48]
  • No need to go back. You could not do so anyway. Time past does not return. One cannot make it return nor return to it. But it is not necessary.[49]

Last Times[edit | edit source]

  • The Day of the Last Judgment[50]
  • It will be the victory of the world, son of Satan for five-tenths, slave of Satan for three more tenths, indifferent to God for the remaining two tenths, victory which extinguishes the light in the Heart of the saints[51]
  • Finally will come the Great Judgment, the Terrible one and then, again, men will be judged en masse. From Adam to the last man. Judged according to what they have willed for themselves on earth, freely.[52]
  • Elijah has returned once. He will return a second time when the last times are near to prepare the last for God. But now he has come to prepare the first for Christ[53]
  • Let us fear the Lord for the hour has come to be ready for His Call. Let us cleanse the garment of our Heart so as not to be unworthy in His Presence. Let us gird ourselves with strength because the hour of Christ is the hour of trial.[54]
  • Dreadful hour of punishment for man who will repeat himself, by the will of man who will have rejected Divinity to make himself godless, a disciple of Satan and his cursed son. An hour that will come when the end of this world is near. Faithlessness becoming sovereign mistress will nullify my power of miracle.[55]

Old Times - New Times[edit | edit source]

  • James of Alphaeus the Apostle announces the New Times: "Here is the new time. It is like a flower about to bloom after centuries the root has worked: and this time has come. If it had not been preceded by centuries of waiting, we could not have understood his Word.".[56]
  • The destiny of James of Alphaeus the Apostle as bishop of Israel and description of the first times of the Church[57]
  • The sign of the times at Kedesh. To the Pharisees who asked Him for a sign, Jesus draws a parallel between His passion and His hand wounded by a stone thrown by Sadoc the Scribe (Matthew 16:1-4 - Mark 8:11-13 - Luke 12:54-56 )[58]

In the Other Works of Maria Valtorta[edit | edit source]

The Notebooks of 1943[edit | edit source]

  • July 23: The Church must suffer as much as her Creator suffered before dying to resurrect in her eternal form. The Church must suffer much longer because the Church, in her members, is not perfect as her Creator, and if I have suffered for Hours, she must suffer for weeks and weeks of Hours.
Just as she arose amid persecutions and was fed by supernatural power in the early days and among the best of her children, the same will happen to her when the last times come where she will exist, subsist, resist the Satanic tide and the battles of The Antichrist with the best of her children. Painful but just selection.
  • August 20: Great is the horror of now, my beloved; but good, good it must still increase to be the Horror of the last times! And if indeed it seems that bitterness has mixed with bread, wine, the sleep of human being, much, much more bitterness will still have to drip in your waters, on your tables, on your beds before you have reached total bitterness that will be the companion of the last days of this race created by Love, saved by Love and who sold itself to Hatred.
  • September 13: But the archAngels were present at the immolation of the Son of God for the salvation of humanity and the torture of the Virgin Mother. And if it is said in Revelation that in the last times, an angel will offer the most holy incense to God’s throne before pouring the first Fire of divine wrath upon the earth, how can you think that among the prayers of the saints, imperishable incense and worthy of the Most High, there are not, in prime position, more suppliants than any words, the tears of my Holy blessed, my very gentle Martyr, my Mother ... ?
  • October 19: It is true that in the eternal dwelling, Wisdom makes you instructed from the first instant. But, see, my Soul, the last times of the earth are a preparation for Heaven. When my goodness gives all the signs and all the time for you to prepare for life, when through the work, not only of my mercy, but also of human will, the means is given to see the final preparations of your coming to life, blessed are those who prepare with a care that is never excessive.
  • October 29: O blessedness of that day when all traps, revenge, Struggles of this earth, Satan, the flesh will be finished forever! My Church will then be composed of true Christians. Then, at the penultimate day. Few in number as at the beginning, but holy as at the beginning. She will end in holiness as she began in holiness. Liars, traitors, idolaters will remain outside those who, at the last hour, imitate Judas and will sell their Soul to Satan, thus harming the Mystical Body of Christ. The Beast will have in them its lieutenants for its last War.
And woe to those who, in the Jerusalem of the last times, will be guilty of such sin. Woe to those who will exploit their role there for human profits. Woe to those who let their brothers and sisters perish and neglect to make the Word entrusted to them bread for Souls hungry for God. Woe.
  • December 11: On the last times: "The secular work of my Church will be finished. The Enemy defeated forever. The Earth purified by torrents of Grace descended for the last time on it to make it as it was in the beginning, when sin had not corrupted this planetary altar destined to sing with other planets the praises of God, and become by humans’ fault the scaffold base of its Lord made Flesh to Save the Earth. Once all seducers, all persecutors who at a sustained rate troubled the Church, my spouse, are defeated, she will know tranquility and glory" (p. 550)
  • December 29: On troubled times: No. It is not the moment to die for Christ. It is the moment to watch, to defend, to teach, to raise defenses Against what wants to enter and corrupt more extensively and deeply.

The Notebooks of 1944[edit | edit source]

  • January 23: The archangel who defeated Lucifer and guards my Kingdom and its children will be the one who appears as a celestial sign in the last times. It is at this time that Israel will join the Rome of Christ, so that there will no longer be two branches of God's people — the blessed and the cursed because of his deicide — but a unique trunk called of Christ, because it will live in me.
Since the number of saved will be complete, it is then that the resurrection of the flesh will occur, like a multitude who sleep and whom a trumpet will wake to call them to a gathering, the dead resting in an infinite number of cemeteries, deserts, depths of seas, everywhere where anyone who was man lies, all will rise to come to me, the supreme Judge.
Oh! Light, you, my attribute, you who will make shine like stars those who have known Wisdom, taught and lived Justice, with what joy you will spread on my blessed ones that day!
Terrifying as never before known, the last time, three years and six months long, will be the time during which Satan, through his son, will burn with supreme rage, for the split between the two branches of God's people will be completed, and with it the cause of so many material, moral and spiritual evils; he will then use his ultimate and perfect tricks to harm, ruin, kill Christ in the Hearts as well as the Hearts acquired to Christ.
  • January 25: Oh! My saints of the last times! If the life of the first, amid persecutions of paganism, was heroic, that of my last saints will be three times, seven times, seven times seven times more so. Only those who feed on the crumb of faith will have a lion's heart to face these torments, as well as eyes and eagle's feathers to fix me, who am the Sun, and fly toward me, who am the Truth, while Darkness will cover them on all sides and Falsehood will try to convince them to adore and To Believe in it. After the precursors of The Antichrist will come The Antichrist himself.
  • April 9: I refer you to all my dictations preceding those of these last times. I have spoken using the prophecies of the Holy Book, explaining them, applying them to the current era. If I then kept silent in such tone, it is because I understood that it did not serve the ends of Good and was even dangerous: these divine words can indeed become weapons of diabolical torture Against my servants who hear, repeat, spread and Homel others. Nevertheless, my Thought, even unexpressed in words, is that and does not change.
Maria, I told you at the end of last May: "Regarding the Future... What do you want to know, poor Soul?" (dictation of May 31, 1943). "Thank my Mercy who, for now, hides from you much of the truth about the Future." Poor, poor Soul!
I told you, another time: “Would you want me to appear and show myself? But, even if I appeared, where is, in Hearts, this little remnant of faith and respect that would make them bow to the ground to ask pardon and mercy?” (dictation of June 5, 1943).

The Notebooks from 1945 to 1950[edit | edit source]

  • August 18, 1945: Truly, old Israel, with its uncharitable pharisaism, has revived stronger than before: it is encouraged by rationalism which stupefies people in regard to the supernatural, and by the new Jansenism which chills Souls and hampers them.
This is not a progress toward the lights of the last times, but a setback not only to the pre-Christian era, but even to inhumane and dark methods of pagan peoples. For now my path is barred, the one I have called you for, by raising up Against my will.
  • December 19, 1945, 11:30 p.m.: The last times will be the times of the spirit. These lights, these voices will abound then to serve as guides to upright Hearts who will grope in the fog of materialisms, rationalisms, sectarianisms in which priests will largely take part.
  • December 26, 1945: The last times will be those of the spirit. But truly, I tell you, only those who will be voluntary victims of the Spirit and preys favored by the Spirit will still be able to admit the supernatural. The others... the dregs he will deposit at the bottom of infernal ponds; they will have no more Word, which must not be thrown to the pigs out of respect and because it protects itself.
  • February 15, 1946: The "great John" saw the heavenly Jerusalem and the glories of the Lamb, as well as the mysteries of the last times after martyrdom. The martyrdom refines the veil of the flesh, it is the saliva of God on still human senses. Then the vision becomes gradually clearer, because it must prepare for the "possession" of God. And so it will be. If someone does not believe it, or cannot Believe it, his unbelief is the heap from which stones are taken to stone the "denier", the "blasphemer", the "powerful" who would want to set limits to God by denying Him the power to choose what is nothing to make His instrument, the power to accomplish a miracle.
  • December 1, 1947: This is not the only time Paul speaks of the second coming of Christ, the last times, the last judgment (Romans 13:11-12); but these words seem indeed to indicate an advent of the eternal day very close to the Pauline era. But what a long dawn this day has, if this time has already lasted twenty centuries and if there is still time to reach it! Did Paul lack prophetic spirit? Yet if, despite this, he is called Vessel of election, Apostle of the Gentiles, and if the power of his teaching word is little inferior to that of the Gospel, how can you cast stones at you, little John, if to myopic readers, some words of mine — I say mine — transcribed by you seem to contradict ancient beliefs and the past, present, or future events as they are known or foreseen?
I tell you truly that Paul was not mistaken by some misinterpretation of my words (Luke 21:32 and Mark 13:30), thinking that the Day of God was near, just as you are not mistaken, you, my little John.
Like all those whom the Spirit of the Spirit that is God fills and raises to the heavens of vision, he sees with God's eyes, that is, in an eternal present. The present event and the one that will occur in centuries are identical for one who contemplates, in ecstasy, God. These events are. They are true. Whether their advent takes place today or in tens of years or centuries, they will happen, and are immediate for one who contemplates them in the luminous whirlwind of eternity, for whom years and centuries are but dust of moments.
  • December 7, 1947: As the transverse axis of the cross carried all the weight of the Redeemer, I, the eternal Word, carry all the treasure of truthful words of the prophets. John, too, is prophet, one of the last times, whereas Isaiah was in my time. But John is always prophet because he sees and announces the Future.
  • Commentaries on the Apocalypse, page 572: And as prophecies are announced by persons who could see “Time” without limits in time, they often serve as light and guide, voice of truth, counsel of mercy for each era.
Prophecy of the apostle of light and love, the Apocalypse illuminates — and this by love — the times, each time, until the last times.
  • Commentaries on the Apocalypse, page 618: The four Living beings who stood around the throne were full of eyes (Revelation 4:7-8). They were indeed the contemplatives, those who had Good contemplated Christ to Good be able to describe and confess Him.
But John, the eagle, had contemplated Him with eagle eyes mortal and immortal, by penetrating with an eagle’s glance into the ardent mystery of Christ. Beyond life on earth, now beside the Beloved, he fixes Him with a perfect gaze that penetrates to the Heart of the mystery and sings the hymn of praise that the other Living beings and the twenty-four elders follow, encouraging their Soul to announce the events of the last times: the supreme horror, the supreme persecution, the ultimate plagues and the supreme victories of Christ, as well as the supreme and eternal joys of His faithful Disciples.

You have had the Mission to be a global voice. You must sing the hymn of Mercy and Love, of Wisdom and Perfection, for all ears and all Hearts, for all intelligences and all Souls. That is why, after preparing you for this capacity — take no Pride because all that you have, I gave you for this Mission, even the illness, even your solitude, absolutely all — I made you a perfect "voice," a giant, you who are a pygmy. But it is not you, it is me in you.
