Doro the Elder

From Wiki Maria Valtorta

This Sanhedrist is seen only twice: once in the company of Tryphon when he comes to greet Lazarus in Bethany, the other in the group of Sanhedrist Enemies who conspire with Judas Against Jesus.[1] He is not found, however, with all of Jerusalem at Lazarus's funeral.

His name

By personal choice, we identify him with Dorotheus, a Sanhedrist mentioned in the Talmud (see below).

Mgrs A. and J. Lemann, Jewish converts, in their publication on the trial of Jesus-Christ (1877)[2] present "Dorotheus son of Bartholomew (Nathaniel) the Apostle": He was sent with three other persons: John son of John, Tryphon son of Theudion, and Cornelius son of Ceron, as deputies to the emperor Claudius by the Jews of Jerusalem, in the year 44, under the governor Cuspius Fadus. The emperor mentions him in the letter he sent to this governor, which Josephus has preserved for us. It is very likely that they or their fathers sat in the chamber of elders, as the Jews never selected for embassies anyone other than the most capable members of the Sanhedrin.
