Jonathan the old priest

Old priest of the Temple who was the master of John the Priest, and friend of Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist. Under the urging of priest John, he becomes a disciple of Jesus along with the young Levite Zacharias.

It is Jonathas who reports to Jesus the murder of the Galileans near the Altar by Pilate.[1]

Very old, he soon dies.

His name

Probably the same origin as Jonathan: "The Eternal has given." Historical reference: the son of Saul, great friend of David.
