Temple

From Wiki Maria Valtorta
Reconstruction of Jerusalem and Herod's Temple - James Tissot, Brooklyn Museum. Herod's Temple in Jerusalem is the name given to the massive extensions of the Second Temple of Jerusalem and the renovations carried out by Herod I the Great.[1]
God wants a Temple of the Spirit... Truly I tell you that the Temple of a Heart that is pure and full of love is the only one that God loves and in which He makes His dwelling with His lights.[2]

In "The Gospel as it was revealed to me"

  • In the time of Jesus, the Temple of Jerusalem, which had taken forty-six years to build, was the pride of the Jewish people.[3]-[4]
  • The first Temple is in the Heart of every man and it is there that the holy prayer is made.[5]
  • Destroy only this true Temple, and I will raise it up to give praise to God.[6] (Jesus was speaking of His future Resurrection after three days).
  • The Temple deserted by the Angels.[7]
  • The reconstruction of Jerusalem and the Temple, in the time of Ezra and Nehemiah, compared to the reconstruction of the Souls by the Christ: The materials are in the Lord’s precepts - It is not fear that saves - Love, on the contrary, builds.[8]
  • Charity makes a Temple everywhere. And it is in the Temple of charity that God is found. If we all loved one another, the Earth would be but one Temple.[9]
  • God wants a Temple of the Spirit... Truly I tell you that the Temple of a Heart pure and full of love is the only one that God loves and in which He makes His dwelling with His lights.[10]
  • It is the new Water time, the time when all is rebuilt. But woe to those who do not want to enter it and oppose those who build the Temple of the new faith of which I am the cornerstone and to which I will also give Myself wholly as the mortar that will join the stones so that the building will stand whole and strong, admirable through the ages, as vast as the Earth covered entirely by its light. I say light and not shadow, for my Temple will be formed by spirits and not by opaque materials.[11]
  • I see the Temple and the altar as the most sacred place of Israel, the place where our humanity can draw near to the Divine and perfume itself in the atmosphere that surrounds the throne of God. I do not abolish the Law, Samuel. It is sacred to me because it was given by my Father. I perfect it and place new parts in it. As the Son of God, I can do this. That is why the Father sent me. I come to found the spiritual Temple of my Church, and against this Temple neither men nor demons will prevail.[12]

  1. This project began around 19 BC and was not fully completed until around 63. According to Flavius Josephus, it was covered on all sides by thick gold plates that reflected the sunlight. And where it was not covered in gold, it was made of "the whitest" marble. It was destroyed by the Roman troops of Titus in 70 (Josephus The Jewish War).
