Its name
Nob or Nob is a locality situated northeast of Jerusalem on the eastern slope of Mount Scopus (Ras el-Mesharif).
There is conjecture about its current location: some postulate Shouafat (Tell Shuafat, Shafât) northwest of the Mount, others postulate Isawiya (el-Isawiyeh, El Aisawiyeh, Al Sawana) to the east of the mount, on the road to Anatoth (Anâta).
This last hypothesis seems plausible, in accordance with what Maria Valtorta and biblical references say about it.[4]
