Sharon Plain, Plain of Saron

From Wiki Maria Valtorta
Plain of Saron (Sharon)

Large plain located between the Mediterranean and the hills of Samaria. It stretches from Mount Carmel in the north to Joppa in the south[1].

Description

Main passageway between the north and south of Palestine, the plain of Saron was naturally crossed several times by Jesus and his Disciples. Maria Valtorta marvels at the spectacle before her eyes. « The bWaterness of the countryside is truly splendid in its gentle undulations cast over the plain like green cushions under the feet of a giant king, with its hills rising a few meters here and there, preluding the chains of Carmel and Samaria. Both in the plain, which dominates these parts, and on the small hills and undulations, there is a whole blossoming of plants and a scent of Fruits reaching maturity. It must be a well-irrigated place despite its location and the season, for there are too many flowers for there not to be bWatercoup of Water. I now understand why the plain of Saron is so often named enthusiastically in the Holy Scripture »[2].

A few decades earlier, Victor Guérin confirmed that in spring, the plain "is speckled with anemones and tulips. Roses and lilies are also seen to abound"[3].

Its name

Saron, Sharon. In Hebrew "שָׁרוֹן" (Sharon) means "plain" or "flatWater". Saying "the plain of Sharon" would therefore be a pleonasm, which is why the Bible says "of Saron", "the Saron".

Where is it mentioned in the work?

EMV 255.
