Man of Petra

From Wiki Maria Valtorta
Merchant from Petra (Sela), Nabatean capital (Arabic) then at the height of its power. He met Jesus, whom he was seeking, at the foot of Mount Nebo. Alexander Misace had convinced him of the healing power of Jesus.
"I am from Petra, Lord. I am passing on behalf of others goods coming from the Red Sea, as far as Damascus. I am not poor, but it is as if I were. I have two children, Lord, and illness has taken them in their eyes and they are blind, one completely (Fara, his son), the other (Tamar, his daughter) almost blind and who will soon be completely so. Doctors do not perform miracles, but You do, Yes."[1]
He is given ten days for a round trip to Petra to fetch them, leaving his caravan in the care of Arisa his steward. Upon his return, Jesus says to him:
- "You have had much faith, man. And if I had disappointed you? If you had not found me? If I told you I cannot heal them?"
- "I would not believe you. I would not even believe the evidence of not seeing you. I would say that you have hidden yourself to test my faith and I would seek you until I find you."[2]
The healings of the two children occur[3], but are mocked by Pharisees on Pilgrimage.

Apostolic Journey

"Keep the faith in Me. For the moment, as you can and as much as you can. Soon... Yes, my Disciples will come to Petra and beyond. Then follow their Doctrine for it is I who will speak through them. And for now, speak to those in Petra about what I have done for you. Thus, when those around me, and others, come in my Name, let my Name not be unknown to them."[4]
