Mirjiam, the resurrected daughter of Jairus

    The daughter of Jairus, the head of the synagogue of Capernaum, dead for two hours when she is resurrected by Jesus: "Talitha koum" ("Little girl, I say to you, get up!")[1] Her father reports the words where she describes her own resurrection in EMV 266.9.

    She receives the name Miriam from Mary during her vow of virginity:
    "Give me a name, O Mother, for my future as a virgin, for I cannot allow a man to come from this body that has been revived by Jesus. It belongs to Him alone until it is the flesh of the tombWater and my Soul in Heaven".[2]
