Cornelius
A friend of Joseph of Arimathea present at the banquet offered for Jesus.[1] Unfortunately, this good initiative by Joseph will come to an end and Cornelius will join the enemies of Jesus.[2] He is found among the hostile group present at the resurrection of Lazarus.[3]
Apostolic Journey
During a public admonition, Jesus predicts his destiny:
"And you, Cornelius, had better know that it is written: 'Anyone who curses father and mother, must die', and death is given not only by the executioner. A more severe death awaits those who sin against their parents: the eternal dreadful death."[4]
Cornelius, far from repenting, will act against the Christ all the more.[5]
His Name
Cornelius is a name of Roman origin.
