Nicolaus of Antioch
Nicolaï is from the Family of Ptolmaï, the steward of Lazarus in Antioch, Syria. He is a proselyte, that is to say a pagan converted to Judaism. He dedicates himself to the nazirite, a form of consecration to God. He will become one of the seven first deacons:
"This proposal pleased the whole assembly, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte of Antioch."[1]He is the one who, among other things, accompanies Sabea, the prophetess of Jericho, to Aëra.[2]

Witness of the Ascension where he is counted among the close followers of Jesus:"You, Nicolaï, who, a proselyte, have been able to console me from the pain of the children of this Nation."[4]Converted by John of Endor who was exiled to Antioch, he comes to Galilee to reinforce Jesus. This takes place in Capernaum during the discourse on the bread of life which will see the great schism among the Disciples:
"I love you, Lord, because you are holy and gentle. I believe in You. Your Actions, your words, had already made me yours. But your mercy just now, for the guilty, has decided me. Lord, make me like you in place of those who abandon you! I come to You with all I have: life and goods, everything".[5]
