Sacrifice, Blood of Christ

Angels collecting the precious blood of Christ - Andreas Pavias

Jesus is the "Great Victim" who shed all His blood for the salvation of all humanity. There are specific devotions to the precious blood of Jesus that honor this total gift of the Christ of Himself.

In "The Gospel as It Was Revealed to Me"

    • But if I did not suffer, I would have no merit, my father. It is good because I knew it would cause me suffering that I offered this sacrifice... (testimony of the young Margziam).[1]
    • When all is accomplished, and the blood and the flesh have been consumed by the sacrifice, behold, like this Fire that has now turned everything into light, my spirit will blaze more than ever over the world and I will be more than ever Light.[2]
    • Truly I say to you, the day will come when, as the inspired word says, God will say: "I have no need of the sacrifice of lambs and of bulls" and He will require a unique and perfect sacrifice, and from that hour on, every sacrifice will be spiritual.[3]
    • I am sacrificed by love. And it is always a sweet sacrifice, even if it is a torment for human nature human.[4]
    • There will be pure victims that love will consume with the Great Victim in the perpetual Sacrifice. I mean the love of God and the love for God. Truly they will be the hosts of the coming time and Temple. Not lambs and goats, bulls and Doves, but the sacrifice of the Heart is what pleases God. David had an intuition of it. And in the new time, time of the spirit and of love, only this sacrifice will be pleasing.[5]
    • He was still the Savior, even if He was the Crucified despised and nailed to a gibbet! The limbs were crucified, but His spirit and His will were free. And with these, He still wanted to wait to give the sinners time to believe and to call His Blood upon them, not by blasphemous shouts, but by moans of contrition.[6]

    The Notebooks of 1943

    • Catechesis of July 1st: You are among the few creatures, too few, who venerate my Blood as it deserves to be venerated. But to those who have venerated it since it was shed, this Blood speaks with words of eternal life and of supra-sensible knowledge. If my Blood were more loved and venerated, more invoked and believed in, much of the evil that brings you to the abyss would be averted.[7]
